Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 3, 2026 · Last updated: September 3, 2026

The short version

Estate planning means telling us about your family, your money, and your wishes. We treat that information as confidential. We use it to build your documents, support your account, and improve the platform.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share the contents of your estate planning documents with advertisers. We do use standard advertising and analytics tools on our marketing website — you can opt out of those in Section 7.

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing [email protected].

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how YWAIT Insurance Solutions Corp. d/b/a PlanLegit ("PlanLegit," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. It applies to our marketing website, our estate planning software and document vault, communications we send you, and the support you receive from a Legit Coordinator (together, the "Platform").

It applies whether you are a visitor browsing the site, a client using the software, a person invited to view someone else's vault, or a Coordinator or other professional using the Platform to support clients. Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Terms & Conditions.

PlanLegit is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Because no attorney-client relationship is created through your use of the Platform, the information you give us is not protected by attorney-client privilege. We protect it as confidential business information under this policy and our contracts, but you should understand that distinction before you enter sensitive details.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and identity details — name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and date of birth.
  • Account details — username, password, security questions, and account settings.
  • Estate planning information — marital status; the names, relationships, ages, and contact details of spouses, children, beneficiaries, guardians, trustees, executors, and agents; descriptions and approximate values of your real estate, bank and investment accounts, retirement accounts, business interests, insurance policies, vehicles, and personal property; debts; your distribution wishes; health care and end-of-life preferences you record in an advance directive; and funeral or burial instructions.
  • Documents you upload — deeds, statements, prior wills or trusts, beneficiary forms, and anything else you place in your vault.
  • Payment information — billing name and address, and the last four digits and expiration date of your card. Full card numbers are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us.
  • Communications — emails, texts, chat messages, support tickets, form and survey responses, appointment notes, and, where you are told in advance and it is permitted by law, recordings or transcripts of calls or webinars.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, approximate location derived from it, device type, operating system, browser, and language.
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring URL, and search terms that brought you to us.
  • Login times, session activity, and actions taken inside the software, which we keep as a security and audit record.
  • Email and text engagement, such as whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked.
  • Cookie and similar identifiers — see Section 7.

Information from other sources

  • A Legit Coordinator, agent, advisor, or referral partner who introduces you to the Platform may pass us your name and contact details so we can set up your account.
  • Advertising and lead platforms, such as social media lead forms you complete, and our customer relationship management system.
  • Our document-assembly and e-signature partners, our payment processor, and fraud-prevention services.
  • Publicly available sources, when we need to verify identity or correct a bad address.

3. Sensitive information and estate planning data

Estate planning inherently involves sensitive details — family relationships, financial accounts, health care wishes, and in some cases information about minors or dependents with special needs. We collect this information only to prepare the documents and provide the support you have asked for.

We do not use the contents of your estate planning answers, your asset information, or your documents to target advertising to you, and we do not sell that information. Where we use a third party to help deliver the service, they are contractually limited to that purpose.

You control what you enter. If you would rather not record an exact account number or balance, you can describe an asset generally — your Coordinator can explain what level of detail the documents actually need.

Portions of the Platform are supplied, hosted, processed, or supported by a third-party software provider. We do not publicly identify that provider on this site, but the provider may process the personal information and document data needed to operate the software, generate documents, maintain the vault, secure accounts, troubleshoot support issues, and provide updates. We contractually limit provider access to operating and supporting the Platform.

4. How we use your information

  • To create, assemble, store, and update your estate planning documents.
  • To create and administer your account, authenticate you, and provide the document vault.
  • To assign a Coordinator and let that person answer your questions, walk you through the platform, and help you complete your plan.
  • To schedule and conduct appointments, webinars, and reviews.
  • To process payments, issue receipts, manage payment plans where offered, and collect unpaid amounts.
  • To send transactional messages — confirmations, reminders, document-delivery notices, security alerts, and service updates.
  • To send marketing and educational messages you have consented to receive, and to measure how they perform.
  • To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
  • To monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform, and to develop new features.
  • To produce aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not identify you.
  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, and protect the rights, property, and safety of our users and the public.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you, and we do not use it to train third-party generative AI models.

5. How we share your information

We share personal information only in the situations below. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that would let a third party build an advertising profile of you from your estate planning data.

  • Service providers. Hosting and cloud storage, document assembly, e-signature and notarization, payment processing, email and text delivery, customer relationship management, scheduling, analytics, and customer support tools. They may process your information only on our instructions and for our purposes.
  • Your Legit Coordinator and the agency or practice that Coordinator works with, so they can support you. See Section 6.
  • People you authorize. Anyone you grant vault access to, and any professional — attorney, accountant, financial advisor — you ask us to share documents with.
  • Professional partners involved in preparing the document templates or reviewing a document at your request.
  • Legal and safety. When required by subpoena, court order, or law; to investigate fraud or a security incident; to enforce our Terms; or to protect someone from harm.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy or give you notice and a choice.
  • Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Our advertising and analytics partners receive limited information about how you interact with our marketing website — not the contents of your account. See Section 7.

6. Coordinators, family members, and vault access

If you were introduced to PlanLegit by a Coordinator, or a Coordinator is assigned to you, that person can generally see your account status, your progress through the platform, your contact details, and the information needed to help you finish your plan. Coordinators are bound by our Terms to keep that information confidential, to use it only to support you, and to provide education and platform guidance only — not legal advice.

Coordinator access choices

When your account is associated with a Coordinator or referral source — including through a partner code, attribution link, embedded sign-up form, or similar tracking parameter — that Coordinator or agency may be linked to your account so they can support you. Where the Platform gives you access controls, you may be offered choices such as:

  • Full access — allowing the Coordinator to view information and documents needed to guide you through the process;
  • Limited access — allowing the Coordinator to see account status, contact details, progress, and support information but not all document contents;
  • No access — declining Coordinator access where the Platform permits it.

The exact controls may depend on the third-party software provider's account settings. You can ask us to reassign a Coordinator, limit access, or remove Coordinator access by emailing [email protected].

You may invite a spouse, family member, trustee, executor, or professional to view all or part of your vault. Anyone you invite can see what you have shared with them, so invite carefully. You can revoke access at any time in your account settings, though a person who already downloaded or printed a document will still have that copy.

If you and a spouse or partner build a joint plan, information one of you enters will generally be visible to the other.

7. Cookies, pixels, and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies — pixels, tags, local storage, and software development kits. We use them to:

  • Make the site work — keep you signed in, remember your session, and secure forms. These are strictly necessary and cannot be turned off.
  • Remember preferences — such as language or a dismissed banner.
  • Measure performance — we use analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to understand which pages people read and where they drop off.
  • Measure and target advertising — we advertise on platforms including Facebook and Instagram, and we use the Meta Pixel and similar conversion tags on our marketing pages so we can tell which ads led to a sign-up and can show ads to people with similar interests.

Advertising and analytics tags on our marketing pages receive information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visited, referral or attribution codes, and whether you submitted a form, scheduled a call, began registration, or completed another conversion event. They do not receive your estate planning answers or the contents of your documents.

We may use the Meta Pixel and similar tools to measure Facebook and Instagram advertising, build custom audiences, retarget visitors who interacted with our marketing pages, and create lookalike audiences. These tools may let the advertising platform recognize your browser or device and associate website activity with your account on that platform, subject to that platform's own privacy settings and policies.

Your options:

  • Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or browse in a private window.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and manage Google ad personalization at myadcenter.google.com.
  • Manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings under Ads, and review the "Off-Facebook activity" tool.
  • Use the industry opt-out pages at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Turn on your browser's Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor as an opt-out request where required by law.

Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site behave.

8. Marketing emails and text messages

Essential service messages

We may send essential messages about your account, registration, purchases, document delivery, appointments, support requests, security, privacy notices, legal notices, payment plans where offered, and service changes. These are part of providing the Platform. You may not opt out of essential service messages while your account remains active, though you may close your account subject to our retention rules.

Marketing messages and A2P text consent

With your consent, we may send educational content, webinar invitations, reminders, offers, surveys, and follow-up messages by email, phone, and text message, including SMS/MMS sent through application-to-person texting systems. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and consent is not a condition of buying PlanLegit software access.

You can opt out at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, reply STOP to any text, or email [email protected]. Reply HELP to a text for assistance. After you opt out, we may send one message confirming the opt-out and may still send essential service messages where permitted by law.

We do not sell your phone number or text-message consent, and we do not share SMS opt-in data or consent with third parties for their own marketing.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your account and document information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as we reasonably need it to:

  • let you return, reactivate, or retrieve documents you may still need;
  • meet tax, accounting, and other legal recordkeeping obligations;
  • resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain security and fraud records.

Because estate planning documents are often needed years or decades after they are signed, we retain them on a long-term basis unless you ask us to delete them. Marketing contact records are kept until you opt out and for a reasonable period after, to honor your opt-out. When information is no longer needed we delete it or de-identify it.

Keep your own copies. Download and store signed originals somewhere you control. Do not rely on the vault as your only copy.

10. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls and role-based permissions, password requirements, activity logging, vendor security review, and staff and Coordinator confidentiality obligations.

No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, using a unique password, enabling any additional security options we offer, and telling us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and any required regulator as the law requires.

11. Your privacy choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy in a portable format;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
  • Delete your information, subject to the retention needs in Section 9;
  • Opt out of marketing email and text messages;
  • Opt out of targeted advertising and of any sharing of your information for that purpose;
  • Revoke access you granted to another person or to a Coordinator;
  • Close your account.

Email [email protected] with your request and the email address on your account. We will respond within 45 days, and may extend once by another 45 days if we tell you why. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authority.

If we deny your request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our response.

12. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the rights described in Section 11, plus the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

In the last twelve months we have collected the categories of personal information listed in Section 2, which map to these statutory categories: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet and network activity; geolocation inferred from IP address; audio and electronic information; professional or employment information where you provide it; characteristics protected by law such as age, marital status, and familial status; sensitive personal information including account log-in credentials and, where you record it, health care wishes; and inferences drawn from the above.

We collect it from you, from your Coordinator or referral source, from advertising and lead platforms, from our service providers, and automatically from your device. We use and disclose it for the purposes in Sections 4 and 5.

We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the last twelve months. We use advertising cookies on our marketing pages, which may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you can opt out using the methods in Section 7 or by emailing us. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the service you requested and for permitted purposes such as security and fraud prevention — not to infer characteristics about you.

To exercise any California right, email [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request."

13. Other state privacy rights

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others as their laws take effect — generally have the right to confirm whether we process their personal data, to access and obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. Where required, we obtain your consent before processing sensitive data, which you may withdraw at any time.

Use the same contact method in Section 11. If we deny your request and your state provides an appeal process, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word "Appeal"; we will respond within the period your state's law allows and, if we again deny the request, tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

14. Nevada residents

Nevada law lets residents opt out of the sale of certain covered information. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law, but you may submit a verified opt-out request to [email protected].

15. Children's privacy

The Platform is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18, and children may not create accounts.

Estate planning documents often name minor children as beneficiaries or guardianship subjects, so an adult account holder may enter a child's name, date of birth, and relationship. That information is provided by the adult, is used only to prepare the documents, and is protected under this policy. If you believe a child has created an account or given us information directly, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

16. Do Not Track

Browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal, but there is no common industry standard for responding to it, so we do not currently respond to DNT. We do honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where the law requires it.

17. Third-party links

The Platform links to third-party sites and services, including our payment processor, scheduling tools, e-signature providers, and the client software log-in. Those parties have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover their practices. Review their policies before giving them information.

18. Where we operate

We operate in the United States and our services are intended for people located in the United States. Information we collect is stored and processed in the United States and may be accessed by our service providers in other countries where they operate. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services, technology, or the law changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice by email or through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
